Sugar coated: A new strategy for solid-support oligosaccharide array synthesis and direct SAMDI-TOF (self-assembled monolayers for matrix-assisted laser desorption-ionization time-of-flight) mass spectrometry detection of the synthesis process is reported (see scheme).
